The Lead Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in the creation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages, with a broad base of analysis and special project duties, as well as participate in month end close responsibilities. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
What you’ll do….
- Prepare various monthly and annual financial statements with related schedules, including variance analysis of financial results.
- Perform ad-hoc business and financial analysis utilizing various databases and working with various operational areas to help senior management decision making and strategy, which may require the analysis and summarization of large amounts of data.
- Analyze financial reports and records, making studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Assist in the preparation and completion of the monthly forecast and annual budget with related schedules and presentations.
- Perform financial modeling as part of planning and forecasting to enhance process efficiency, support new initiatives, and to accurately capture changing business economics and structure.
- Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to, corporate division accounting including general ledger, fixed assets and treasury transactions.
- Assist in the adoption and implementation of new accounting guidance and principles as requested.
- Maintain accounting records to ensure compliance with requirements under statutory rules, accounting standards, corporate policies and procedures.
- Apply the principles of GAAP to intricate accounting operations.
- Prepare month end close journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
- Evaluate, certify, and coordinate general ledger entries in adherence to established policies, while ensuring that close activities are accomplished promptly and accurately.
- Assist in the preparation of support schedules as requested for the annual audit and tax compliance.
- Participate in Accounting special projects as requested.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in the implementation of the solution.
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties as requested by manager.
What you’ll need…
Qualifications
- Must be a team player who is also able to work independently and adhere to BlueTeam’s core values.
- Knowledge of or experience within the construction industry a plus.
- Trending and forecasting experience which incorporates critical thinking skills required.
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word. Advanced Excel data compilation and analysis skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
- Proficiency in Acumatica or other construction ERP software applications preferred.
- Proficiency in Planful, Hyperion or similar EPM software application required.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required.
- Must be collaborative and able to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, have the flexibility to deal with multiple changing priorities and be able to also meet deadlines within determined timeframes.
- Must be self-motivated and a critical thinker who possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a process improvement mindset with willingness to challenge current processes.
- Experience in providing exceptional customer service to a broad base of stakeholders with ability and interest to learn business operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a finance/accounting role required.
- · MBA, CPA, or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
