The Corporate Controller will be responsible for the monitoring and upkeep of the Company’s financial health. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the Company’s financial reporting as well as budgeting and forecasting. The Controller will also manage the Company’s accounts payable, treasury, and general accounting functions daily while collaborating with the Project Accountant Controller on revenue and billing functions. This position will supervise a team of accounting professionals.
What you’ll do….
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement consistent accounting policies, technical accounting analysis, and procedures while upholding GAAP standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future pronouncements.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
- Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Manage debt facilities and prepare compliance reporting as applicable.
- Manage all aspects of the month end close process, ensuring all journal entries and account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.
- Oversee the preparation of and review all financial statements and related documents, while ensuring the Company’s financial position is reported timely and accurately.
- Review departmental and divisional financial reporting and schedules; communicate results of same to respective stakeholders.
- Manage the monthly forecast and annual budget processes; assist in the preparation and review of related schedules.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting, such as the weekly cash forecast, as requested.
- Support and coordinate all aspects of the Company’s annual audits while ensuring adherence to the audit timeline.
- Identifying areas and propose solutions for performance improvement.
- Participate in special projects such as system upgrades and enhancements as requested.
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties as requested by manager.
What you’ll need…
- Must be a team player who is also able to work independently and adhere to BlueTeam’s core values.
- Knowledge of or experience within the construction industry a plus.
- Trending and forecasting experience which incorporates critical thinking skills required.
- Advanced level of knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word. Advanced Excel data compilation and analysis skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
- Proficiency in Acumatica or other construction ERP software applications preferred.
- Proficiency in Planful, Hyperion or similar EPM software application preferred
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required.
- Must be collaborative and able to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, have the flexibility to deal with multiple changing priorities and be able to also meet deadlines within determined timeframes.
- Must be self-motivated and a detail oriented critical thinker who possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a process improvement mindset with willingness to challenge current processes.
- Experience in providing exceptional customer service to a broad base of stakeholders with ability and interest to learn business operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
- MBA, CPA, or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of proven accounting experience with a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a senior level accounting or finance manager required
